About Grupo Yagua

In his pursuit to foster latin music from yesteryear’s and simultaneously preserve jibaro music from Puerto Rico, in 2006 David began to perfom dances, cultural events and festivals.  He would perform with a guitar and sing songs by famed Puerto Rican authors including Don felo (Felipe Rosario Goyco), Flor Morales Ramos (Ramito), Placido Acevedo, Luz Celenia Tirado (la Jibara de las Lomas), Pedro Flores and Sylvia Rexach.

Raices: A Jibaro Music Celebration

"Raices" is an act of support and collaboration between two sister organizations, the National Congress of Puerto Rican rights and ¿Oíste?, in response to the recent budget cuts affecting crucial services in the Latino community. The evening's exciting musical line-up included live performances by Grupo Yagua with David Morales.
